The Aimée is one of my favorite pieces this year and almost didn't make the cut. The collection was finished, but I felt the group needed one last piece that was feminine and flirty to offset the structural lines of the other designs. I grabbed a rectangle of silk charmeuse, sat down at the machine, and the Aimée came together. She wasn't pre-planned or sketched, but developed organically at the sewing machine. Which is one of many ways new designs happen in the studio.
The detail of the flutter speaks for itself and the waist has a hidden tie that allows you to create a beautiful oval shape on the body.
This top is gorgeous on it's own, but would look fantastic under a great jacket or a soft wrap. I also love it as a luxury lounge piece for around the house. I'm wearing it with a sweater knit lounge pant and Zac Posen faux fur slide.
