Earth Tones Study No. 1 was inspired by the other designs using the Earth Lines fabric. Using multiple layers of dry pigments and wax and then an extraction method of scrapping down the top layers creates this ethereal sense of color in space.
The 8" x 8" Study pieces work seamlessly into any space on a small easel or tucked into shelving. Can also be used as small wall art.

The Study No. pieces are where I experiment through encaustic painting. Using dry pigments, dammar resin, and beeswax, I create my own colors and medium for each piece. A combination of heated metal tools, brushes, and a mini blow torch, create layer upon layer of wax and color, developing the composition, form, and texture.
