On a recent trip to the beautiful NC mountains, I captured this photograph through a tiny peep window at sunrise. The grainy, ethereal image was perfect for my exploration in encaustic photography.
This process uses adhesion to secure the image to a large wooden cradle board and then multiple layers of pigment and wax build up the surface. The original image shows through, but with a lovely haze and softening.
